The 2024 Kentucky Incentives for Prevention (KIP) Survey was administered to over 21,000 students throughout Kentucky.

The Kentucky Incentives for Prevention (KIP) survey is Kentucky’s largest source of data related to adolescent substance misuse and behavioral health. Communities utilize KIP survey data extensively for grant-writing purposes, prevention activities, and a range of efforts intended to meet the needs of students.

In the most recent administration in October 2024, over 21,000 students representing 109 school districts throughout the state completed the survey. The 2024 KIP Survey included the addition of new questions to address disability status, disordered eating, school connectedness and discrimination.

District-level KIP Survey results are reported only to the school district and are not released in a public report. A comprehensive statewide report portraying key indicators from the biannual survey results is made widely available.
